The organizer is key to forming and establishing a film group. He or she has to do much of the work at first, but in exchange, gets to determine the tone and the character of the group. The organizer's tasks are primarily logistical. He or she must recruit participants, determine how meetings will be facilitated and structured, decide how often they will be held, where they will be held, and how long they will last. An organizer who does not wish to make all these choices might opt to hold a preliminary meeting with group participants to determine these details.
