SELECTING & RESERVING FILMS
Series
vs. Single Films: There are two basic ways that a group can
choose films:
- a
series of movies linked around a topic; or
- individual
tapes that are selected one by one
Watching
related filmssuch as from the series
suggested in this guidecreates a thematic framework. Having
a general theme can make for easier discussions. However, groups
that watch individual, unrelated tapes might find that unexpected
connections between films often appear as well.
Reserving
the Film: If the local JHVC does not have a reservation system,
arrangements should be made so that videos are available for groups
when needed. Rental time is also needed for the facilitator to preview
tapes.
